about

Wolf is the second single from the upcoming minialbum GO!GO!GO!, released June 23, 2015 by Smaragd Records, 23 Seconds Netlabel and Sound Pollution.

Wolf was premiered on Culture Collide May 11 and called it "...a track for those nights when you just can't sleep. Sonically, it's a perfect example of the play between indie alt-pop/rock and their new love for electro pop. While the verses are dominated by a melodic bass line, the chorus blooms with synths and keys that flutter and dance. The whole track is coated with atmospherics that gently caress a distorted guitar trying so hard to break free."

The recording of Wolf started off as an attempt to mix the sound of Ultravox with Primal Scream but ended up as a typical Emerald Park sounding, electronic pop song. The bassline, electric guitars, arpeggios and the low-key vocals is a mixture of the sounds of Emerald Parks earlier records Absolute Zero (2012) and For Tomorrow (2008).

lyrics

Lyrics:
There’s a hole, it’s black and hollow
There’s a thought, it’s hard to follow
There are questions without answers
Stars you can not see
There’s a shadow in the darkness
There’s a movement in the silence
There’s a distance in my mind
Dreams that can come true
There’s a fallen star for every wound and scar
There’s an open field
I lay myself down to sleep
No more lights in our shelter
All the stars fell down from our sky
Darkness fights all our defenses
The story will repeat itself again
No more lights in our shelter
The wolf in fairy land calls out for more
There’s a light, it’s small and growing
There’s a wind that’s always blowing
There’s a road that leads to nowhere
Who writes about the past
No more lights in our shelter
All the stars fell down from our sky
Darkness fights all our defenses
The wolf in fairy land calls out for more
