about
Liberteens was the first single of GO!GO!GO.
The song-writing and sound of Emerald Park 2015 is familiar from previous releases - indiepop with a touch of melancholy, Martina and Tobias voices fills the air but more like a conversation than in harmony. The previously frequently used acoustic guitars and ukuleles are left hanging on the wall and the band uses Moogs, handclaps, electric guitars and synthesizers instead. The lyrics differ from the previous Absolute Zero and Black Box and tend to be somewhat more sentimental and reflective than quirky.
lyrics
Tonight I’m standing in the shades
A true reflection of the eighties
And tonight I’m like a beautiful portrait
From the movies
We’re like the young teens
I’m just another girl painting all the pictures in the sand
I just want to hold your hand, hold your hand
I’m just another girl painting all the pictures in the sand
They fall into pieces on the ground
It’s just a memory
You keep it locked in a box
It’s just a memory of you and me
It’s just a memory
You keep it locked in a box
It’s just a memory of you and me
Why am I afraid
of the way this story is told
of how we got old
Why I’m I afraid
of the true reflection
We’re like the young teens
I’m just another girl painting all the pictures in the sand
I just want to hold your hand, hold your hand
I’m just another girl painting all the pictures in the sand
They fall into pieces on the ground
It’s just a memory
You keep it locked in a box
It’s just a memory of you and me
It’s just a memory
You keep it locked in a box
It’s just a memory of you and me
